This D.ESCAL8™ 3 day course is Certified under the Restraint Reduction Network Training Standards administered by the British Institute of Learning Disabilities (BILD). As with all our physical intervention courses it is informed by the Training Needs Analysis of the needs of the individuals you support.
Participants completing this course will gain a certificate confirming they have been trained to the Restraint Reduction Network Training Standards.
As the 'Supporting Individuals in Distress' course (SID) is certified you can be confident that all of the standards of theory, current legislation, Physical Intervention Risk Assessments and best practice are met whilst being tailored to the particular needs of your service and supported individuals.
This one day course is an annual update for our Foundation course (SID). An annual refresher is a requirement of the Restraint Reduction Standards to keep staff up to date, confident, competent and certified.
This one day workshop will give participants a solid understanding of positive behaviour support (PBS).
Positive Behaviour Support is the framework at the heart of D.ESCAL8™ training; delivering all care in a supportive and positive way even in times of crisis when individuals can display sings of distress.
An individualised approach is embedded within the workshop delivery giving supporters and staff the grounding that PBS is at the centre of all care they provide and in all the work they do.
The training teaches and discusses primary and secondary prevention strategies, with the overall principle that all prevention strategies should be carefully selected and reviewed to ensure that they do not constrain opportunities or have an adverse effect on the welfare or the quality of life of anyone involved.
Dual Diagnosis is a term that is used in many different areas, however, here we are specifically discussing people who have a Learning Disability and who may experience Mental Health issues. This one day workshop is interspersed with exercises, videos, presentation and discussion.

This is a comprehensive four day course that incorporates our 'Supporting Individuals in Distress' course with an additional in depth focus on Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).
Incorporated in this course are skills for life around building and maintaining relationships even when that relationship is with an individual whose behaviour causes some distress for those around them.
A two day interactive course that covers the introductory aspects of our foundation course "Supporting Individuals in Distress" (SID) and includes an introduction to physical skills commonly thought of as breakaway skills - we call these Disengagement Skills.
D.ESCAL8™ can provide individualised physical interventions as part of our bespoke consultancy. These are only discussed when a Training Needs Analysis, Behavioural Audit assessment by a consultant indicate this need. Bespoke physical interventions have been designed around individuals in special circumstances.
Why not have your own successful Associate Trainer that would adhere to the Restraint Reduction Network Standards and deliver D.ESCAL8™'s ‘Supporting Individuals in Distress’ course and associated annual update days to staff within your service.
